  • Court Carroll County – Westminister

    Charge –Speeding

    Outcome –Client, already on Probation for Speeding was facing a 5 point citation .  We successfully had the court reduce the speed and the resulting points and fine.  A very favorable outcome.

     

  • Court Carroll County – Westminister

    Charge –Failure to drive on the right side of the roadway

    Outcome –Client had a spotless record and we obatined a PBJ with reduced fine.

     

  • Court Baltimore City District Court

    Charge –Leaving the scene of an accident and failure to provide insurance information

    Outcome –Client, who returned to the scene and was there when the officer arrived, was granted a PBJ with all other charges dismissed.

     

  • Court Baltimore County – Essex

    Charge –We were called by an attorney in New York to help his client with a warrant an Driving While Suspended charge from 2013.

    Outcome –We succesfully dealt with the warrant and and got a PBJ on the Driving While Suspended.  All fines and costs were waived.  The client was able to obtain a license in New York.

     

  • Court Baltimore County Towson

    Charge –Our client , already on Probation for a Driving while suspended and a DUI is charged with a another Drving While Suspended.  We were not happy with the judge assignment in District C0urt so we praye da jury trial to the circuit court.

    Outcome –There, we negotiated with the State’s Attorney to delay sentencing until after the time we expect the client to have applied for and hopefully obtained a new driver;s license.  We are confident that this will help her avoid jail.

     

  • Court Baltimore County Towson

    Charge –High speed

    Outcome –Client, a Senior School Administrator with a history of speeding had the charges dismissed.  No fine, No Points, no violation of his existing PBJ.

     

  • Court Baltimore County – Essex

    Charge –High speed

    Outcome –PBJ, No points, reduced fines

     

  • Court Baltimore County – Towson

    Charge –Client lost control of his vehicle, crashed through the fence and into the garage door of a private home and left the scene.

    Outcome –Facing substantial  consequences, we resolved the case with a PBJ on one of the more serious charges and had the balance dismissed.

    Charge –Driving While Suspended and Driving without insurance.

    Outcome –Our client, a refugee seeking asylum was very concerned that the charges would impact his application for asylum in the US.  After discussing the case with the State’s Attorney we successfully resolved the case with no negative effects.  We also have filed expungement petitions to remove the serious charges completely from his record.

    Outcome –Not Guilty – No points, No fine, No effect on driving record.

     

  • Court –Jurisdiction Anne ArundelCounty – Glen Burnie

    Charge –First of two cases for Driving While Suspended (while on a prior PBJ for a DUI).

    Outcome –Succesfully obtained a Probation Before Judgment – Unsupervised.  Significant reduction of fines.  No effect on his existing Probation for the DUI.

    Charge –Young driver worried about points and violations on his record and the effect it would have on his medical school applications, charged with Speeding (high).

    Outcome –Eventhough he had already paid the ticket and had the points on his record, we successfully re-opened the case and got the charges reversed and the points removed.  A great result.

    Charge –Young Drivcer charge with several serious violations including leaving the scene of an accident.

    Outcome –Unsupervised Probation on the most serious charge.  All others charges were dismissed.

    Charge –Failure to control vehicle to avoid collision

    Outcome –Client, a high level federal employee with security clearance was thrilled that all charges were dropped.

    Charge –Speeding and reckless driving

    Outcome –Probation before Judgment. No points and no entry on his driving record.

     

  • Court –Anne Arundel County

    Charge –Airline pilot charged with Failure to Control Vehicle Speed to Avoid a Collission on Highway

    Outcome –Not guilty.  Client, a commercial airline pilot was concerned that charges would interfere with a new job at a major carrier.  We had the charges dismissed with no effect to his driving record or his new job.

    Charge – Speeding (90 in a 55)

    Outcome – Not Guilty. This out-of state military contractor was terrified that the high-speed charge would impact her security clearance and work opportunities.  She was found Not Guilty.

    Outcome Unsupervised Probation on the most serious charge.  Other lesser charges were dismissed.

    Charge – Failure to Control Speed to Avoid Collision

    OutcomeNot Guilty. Client was charged with causing an accident on the Baltimore Beltway (1-695).  State could not produce evidence to support the charge.

    OutcomeProbation Before Judgment on one of the charges and dismissal of several other serious charges. Client has several prior convictions for similar charges and a prior DUI.  She was fortunate to get the result that she did.

    OutcomePBJ on the insurance charge, and with a lot of hard work, client got his license and the other license related charges were dismissed.

    OutcomePBJ to a reduced speed and dismissal of other charges. The client is a CDL holder and the speed charge would have caused him great difficulty with his CDL record.  The officer agreed to reduce the speed and not oppose a PBJ.

    Charge – Client, an out-of state (NY) driver, was charged with several serious license plate related charges including Knowingly using a fraudulent license tag.

    OutcomeAll charges were dismissed. Client maintained that an on-line seller of false temporary license plates duped him.  Issues were corrected and we got the prosecutor to agree to drop all charges.

    Outcome – Represented a woman who was charged with several serious Driving While Suspended related offenses. She was in the midst of applying for citizenship in the USA and was very afraid of the consequences. We were successful in having the serious charges dismissed due to a flaw in the State’s case.

    Outcome We represented a CDL holder in a serious speeding case. The case was favorably resolved

  • Court – Baltimore County District Court

    Charge – Speeding

    Outcome –  We successsfully defended a case where a teenage young man was charged with doing 95 mph in a 55 mph zone. After a trial where we challenged the State’s evidence, the judge found our client Not Guilty.

  • Court – Baltimore City District Court

    Charge – Speeding.

    OutcomeWe represented a US government employee charged with speeding. She was concerned about the effect on her employment status. The case was favorably resolved.

  • Court – Baltimore County District Court

    Charge – Failure to control Speed to Avoid a Collission.

    OutcomeClient was charged with several violations related to a crash while he became distracted by his dog in the back seat of his car. After the citing officer admitted that he could not support the charge with admissible evidence the case was dismissed.

    Charge – Driving While Revoked.

    Outcome – We represented a gentleman facing his NINTH charge of Driving While Suspended or Revoked.  After several procedural, legal and strategic maneuvers, we were successful in resolving the case very favorably. He did not get any serious conviction or points.  A great result.

    Charge – Leaving the Scene of an Accident

    Outcome – Our client, a public school teacher and church pastor, allegedly struck a car in a parking lot and left with telling anyone. There were witnesses and video. After speaking with the prosecutor we were successful in disposing of the case with minimal legal and MVA impact.

  • Court – Anne Arundel County District Court

    Charge – Speeding

    Outcome – Our client was visiting Baltimore and returning his rental carat BWI.  He was caught speeding (over 85 in a 55) and we succeeded in obtaining a PBJ – no points.

  • Court – Baltimore County District Court

    Charge – Driving While Suspended

    Outcome – Client was charged after a stop with Driving While Suspended.  This arose out of a bad check payment to the MVA for a license renewal. The problem was cured and due to some legal issues with the original stop, the case was dismissed.

    Charge – Leaving the Scene of an Accident

    Outcome – Our client was driving a commercial vehicle, a 16 passenger Sprinter van, and allegedly hit another vehicle wen merging into an exit lane.  She was not aware of any contact and surprised when she was contacted by a police officer.  The state had issues with proving its case and after negotiations with the state we agreed to plead to a lesser charge.

    Charge – Failure to Control Speed to Avoid a Collision.

    Outcome – We represented a young man, whose father holds a very responsible position in Law Enforcement, who was charge in connection with a collision with a school bus.  We were able to get the charging officer to concede that he could not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt, and the case was dismissed.  This save the young man serious ramifications to his driving record.

  • Court – Howard County District Court

    Charge – Failure to Control Speed to Avoid a Colission

    Outcome – Client was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-70.  She was charged by a State Trooper who did not witness the accident and did not have sufficient evidence to pursue the charge. The Judge granted our Motion for a Not Guilty finding.

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Case – We represented a woman in a three car crash, who was stopped at a light when a commercial vehicle caused a third vehicle to crash into my client. Her car sustained nearly $20,000 in damage.

    Outcome We obtained a 5 figure settlement for her damages.

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Case – I represented a gentleman who although sustaining little property damage in a rear-end accident, did have significant and debilitating injuries.

    Outcome Even with minor property damage we obtained a favorable 5 figure settlement.

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Case – We represented two ladies who were struck by a car exiting an alley

    Outcome Although damage to the client’s car was minimal, we successfully negotiated a settlement that was reasonable.

    Case – Our client was injuried in a rear-end crash and treated for soft-tissue complaints.

    Outcome We negotiated a settlement that satisfactorily compensated her for her injuries.

  • Court – Motor Vehicle Administration

    Charge – Failure of a Breath Test after arrest for DUI

    Outcome – Although facing a suspension of his driver’s license, we succeeded in obtaining a restricted license to allow the client to continue to drive for work-related purposes.

  • Court – Baltimore County (Essex)

    Charge – A Tractor-Trailer operator for a large commercial shipping company was charged with Failure to Control Speed to Avoid an Accident and with Negligent Driving arising out of an accident that totaled his rig.

    Outcome After discussing the case with the State Police – who admitted to not witnessing the crash and having no evidence – the court found my client Not Guilty. The outcome of was case is Crucial to his employment.

  • Court – Baltimore County (Towson)

    Charge – Client was charged with Theft from a Target store. He is physically and emotionally unable to be in court and facing another bench warrant for Failure to Appear.

    Outcome –  After discussing the case with the Prosecutor and providing documentation of the client’s medical and psychological issues, the State agreed to a Stet (indefinete continuance). This was a great result.

  • Court – Baltimore County (Towson)

    Charge – Client, an undocumented alien, was charged with driving without a license and several less serious offenses.

    OutcomeThe state did not support the charge. Result was a Not Guilty.

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Charge – Client was facing his SIXTH charge of driving while suspended in Maryland (He has several others in other jurisdictions). Before retaining our firm, the prosecutor insisted on his doing jail time.

    OutcomeAfter several postponements, we negotiated a “no recommendation” from the State and the Judge, who otherwise would have sentenced the client to 60 days in jail, agreed to a suspended sentence and a reduced fine. A great result for the client.

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Charge – Client was charged with Aggressive Driving, Speeding (97 MPH!) and other traffic offenses.

    OutcomeThe Judge found client Not Guilty on one of the other traffic offenses which defeated the Aggressive Driving Charge. A potentially heavy fine and points case was reduced to 1 point and a reasonable fine.

    Charge – Client charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

    Outcome Although the case was ripe for a postponement due to discovery issues, we decided that the judge we had that day made it worth going forward. Client recieved a Probation Before Judgment and very reasonable terms of probation.

  • Court – Baltimore County Towson

    Charge – Client charged with a serious speeding violation.

    Outcome –  The state did not support the charge. Result was a Not Guilty.

Personal Injury Case Results - September 2018

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Case – Our client, riding a scooter, was struck by a car making a left turn in front of him.  He was seriously injured and endured several surgeries.

    Outcome We settled a case for policy limits.

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Case – Client seriously injured in a head-on collision.  His passenger was killed in the crash.

    Outcome We settled a claim at policy limits. The hard part of that case was resolving the enormous medical bills that existed due to his long and complicated hospitalization and numerous surgeries.

    Case – Two clients who were struck in a rear-end crash on their way home for musical performance.   Both clients sustained injuries that required physical therapy for many weeks.

    Outcome We arranged a settlement that compensated them reasonably under the circumstances presented.

    Charge – Client was charged with DUI. He side-swiped a police car and denied that he was even on that street.

    Outcome Succeeded in keeping client out of jail and getting a Probation Before Judgment.

  • Court – Baltimore County

    Charge – Client was charged with Driving While Suspended (third time).

    Outcome –  We were able to obtain a very favorable outcome after discussions with the State’s Attorney.

    Charge – Client charged with a serious (5 point) speeding ticket.

    Outcome We had a trial and the Judge found client Not Guilty.

    Case – Client was side-swiped while on an interstate by a commercial van. He sustained injuries to his shoulder.

    Outcome After months of therapy to avoid surgery, he was released from medical treatment. We negotiated a favorable settlement in excess of what we originally predicted.

    Outcome Case dismissed after assisting the client in getting his driver’s license.  Client did not understand what needed to be done to correct his complicated situation.

    Outcome –  Case Dismissed.  Client was issued 14 citations.  The officer’s stop was not legal to begin with.  After that it all fell apart.

    Outcome –  Case Dismissed.  Client was driving mother’s car to whom he had been paying monthly for insurance.  Mom pocketed the money.

    Outcome State originally wanted him to plead guilty for a suspended sentence.  Prosecutor agreed to a Probation. I kept pushing and got the case dismissed.

    Outcome Judge took a “No Action” (dismissed).  Client avoided a 270-day license suspension.
